SEATTLEVERSUS

One week has passed since the theft situation at Prepolopolis and the situation hasn’t gotten resolved.  In response to the incident Prepolopolis has shut it’s doors, and until the situation is resolved by returning the items, Zach will not be having open invites any longer.  I don’t think that I need to further explain how this will be a HUGE impact on our scene, however the bond of trust has been broken, and an incident like this cannot be over looked even IF the items are replaced.  On the bright side, I’m doing my best to save our tournament scene.

In the thread it was brought up that “Zach’s house is not a venue” however I think the major issue is that we treated it as such.  With that said, I think that the answer to our problems (regarding the tournament scene) would be to hold tournaments at a venue (duh)!  I’ve been taking it upon myself to find a venue in which I can rent out once a month in order to throw our tournaments.  The plan is in it’s infancy as of right now, but I just wanted to post this article to tell people that our tournament scene can rebound from an incident like this.  With that, if anyone is looking to help me out in this, I’d really appreciate it, so post up!

All in all, here’s to taking a right step in the right direction.  I’ll keep everyone posted about where’s, and when’s when I figure stuff out.

Guess who’s back.

Usually in this space I would do a hype recap of results from the tournaments at Zach’s, but as everyone who attended knows, there is really only one thing that needs to be discussed: Last night several items and some cash were stolen from various people in the house during the event, something that hasn’t happened in the 5+ years that Zach has been hosting people at his house. We don’t know who did it, but we do have some suspicions. As a result of this, the future of the “open invite” gatherings at Zach’s House, and indeed ANY kind of gathering at Zach’s house, has been put into jeopardy. Honestly, if we can’t even trust each other it’s not worth having this kind of gathering anyway.

So please, if you were there, while you look over the results of the SFIV and BlazBlue tournaments and the pictures from the night, rack your brain and retrace your steps. If you have ANY information that might lead to the identification of the thief and/or the return of the stolen goods, please let us know.

I don’t need to remind anyone who reads this site how much Zach has done for the fighting game community, not only here in the Northwest, but around the world; he truly is “one of the good guys.” I speak for everyone here at SeattleVersus, and I think everyone in the Northwest scene, when I say that even if this turns out to be the last Preppy’s… thanks for everything, Zach.
