SEATTLE: T6 & SF4 TOURNAMENT

uwIt’s been a pretty long time since we’ve had an official singles tournament event (aside from the Tournament Wars events), but community member Ejdge has something in the works.  Come  Sunday, December 6th,  Ejdge will be holding a Tekken 6 and Street Fighter 4 tournament over at the UW Husky Union Building.  The tournament will start at 1pm (sign ups begin at 12pm) with a $10 entry fee.  If you are interested in attending this event, check out the official thread for more details such as how to register, directions to the HUB and more!  Also, the format is still in it’s infancy and tournament format isn’t quite “set in stone” yet!  Check out the thread and tell Ed what you think.

TOURNAMENT WARS SINGLES TOURNAMENT!

“You wanted more singles tournaments, and now you got em!”  Tournament Wars will now hold singles tournaments with their standard Tekken/Street Fighter team matches.  The singles tournament will be held today at the Best Western Inn (address) at 7pm before Tournament Wars.  There will be $1 – $2 buy in, and because it will be held in the bar area of the Best Western attendants must be 21 or older.  There is also a set attendance cap at 16 players.  This whole idea is in it’s beta stage so Frank and company are still tweaking around with things.  More information can be found here at the “TWars singles tourney thread.” Also, this will also be Tournament Wars Tekken 6 TW debut!  So if your not doing anything tonight, feel free to come on by and say whats up!

TOURNAMENT WARS COVERAGE!

wolfpackAnother great Tournament Wars event was held last night at the Best Western.  Because of schedule arrangements, a total of 7 matches were played with 3 teams playing double headers: “The Starvengers,” “Team Salt” and “Team Jurassic.”  There were tons of exciting moments last night and all around exceptional play from each team.  For me, I personally enjoyed watching Team Salt’s Mac and King take back to back OCV’s netting them a total of 3 points for that night!  Anyways, if you weren’t there, here’s a breakdown of what happened last night…

Today was the first hands on experience people got with Super 4 and tons of details have been spilled!  Justin Wong posted tons of new info on his twitter.  Along with his updates and info Justin stated that playing Super 4 was fairly exclusive and that casuals weren’t held.  The stream that was shown was VERY vague, you’d mainly spend 30 minutes seeing this before you would even get to see a match of Super 4.

TOURNAMENT WARS: ROUND 1 WEEK 2

tournament-wars-logo-1

Along with Seasons Beatings 4, Seattle’s own “Tournament Wars” will be kicking off this Saturday. Unfortunately I wasn’t able to attend the first week of TW, but from what everyone is telling me I missed out on a crazy event. This time around, I’ll be playing with my team “TDP,” so you can guarantee that I’ll be there in full suit to bring full coverage this time around.

The teams that will be going up against each other are:

- “Electric Shoryuken Legs” (Richard, Mikhail, Gadouken) VS “Team Fight Brothers” (Sherwin, Ray Mark, Sean)

- “Team Boss” (Paul Lee, Carlos, Mike) VS “Team Underdog” (Dale, Mike W, Cory)

- “The Wolfpack” (Kriangkai, Jeff, Shawn) VS “TDP” (Frank, Mandel, Mickey)

People have been really hyping up TDP/Wolfpack’s match and some players are even calling it the main event of this round! I’m personally SUPER HYPE about TW and can’t wait for Saturday to come.

For more information check out the TW website here: http://tournamentwars.com/. I personally enjoy the “Frank’s Flight Card” section, where he gives his own personal opinion (with a touch of analytical perspective) on how matches might end up playing out.

To wrap things up, if you’re looking for match videos that got thrown down at TW, be sure to peep the Tournament Wars youtube page here: www.youtube.com/user/tournamentwars.
