PRIZE MONEY GONE BAD?
Kineda.com wrote up a quick summary of the “Two Days of Gaming Euphoria: Hollywood Massacre & Triple Threat!” event held in Los Angeles, California. You may have seen this event being showcased at the shoryuken home page. ACTivegamerS LA and Shoryuken collaborated together in order to throw a massive 2 day event that would be fairly exclusive to the fighting game community. Aside from being an amazing 2 day event, the real attraction was the prize money, guranteed to “exceed $2,200″ for three games: Tekken 6, Street Fighter 4 and Blaz Blue (hence why it was named “Triple Threat!”). However, it looks as if the prizes weren’t so guaranteed at all…

Apparently a huge mishap occurred with the prize money situation. To put it simply, the full amount of money could NOT be paid to prize winners. It’s a bit unclear as to why ACTivegamersLA couldn’t shell out the entire amount of prize money, however the fact of the matter that winners did NOT get the “guaranteed amount” of $2,200. Head over to Kineda.com for the full scoop, as well as a video caught live at the event as to why ACTivegamersLA couldn’t give out the “guaranteed” prize amount.
